So I am doing junior bronze skills (for those in canada who know what skills are), and I am having sooo much trouble with backwards 3turns! I'm not sure why exactly I can't do them...so I was wondering if anyone has any tips?? they would be much appreciated

Inside, outside, or both?
* Bend into and out of the turn * Make sure your skating hip is under you * Don't get too far forwards on your picks. You almost think of turning on your heel (at least, I do). * Make sure you have the proper "check." With the right shoulder action and body alignment, the turn will just happen on its own. * Keep your free leg still

i had hard time too. partly because i was teaching myself and had the wrong arm placement. once corrected,, i was on fire!
![]() what worked for me was to get comfortable looking over your shoulder behind you just as you get ready to turn. try just gliding backward on a curve,, and looking in back of you,,, just get the feel of it. who knows, if the rest of you is set properly, you might surprise yourself and end up turning! ![]()
