Off-ice training

Hi all!
I was wondering if anybody has any idea of how many rotations you need to have on the ground (jumping straight up) in order to complete a double or a triple jump on ice. Also, in order to perform a double axel on ice is it necessary to be able to perform it on the ground?

Thanks a lot!

I think my daughter was landing only single axels off ice when she learned her first doubles on ice, so my answer would be 1 1/2 rotations off ice.

At our club, off ice jump rotations are all from a forward takeoff like axels. So.....I assume when I'm watching, they are trying for 1 1/2 rotations (single axel) or 2 1/2 (double axel). Our higher level guys and gals may be doing more off ice rotations than that, but they all have solid triples on ice.
