Thanks to everyone for their lovely replies, especially thx to the moderator for kindly stepping in and fixing the Title. I'm going to keep track of this thread so I can come back to the big girl crossovers hints in the future.

Well, I was talking about 'little girl' backward stroking. This must be an ISI thing to introduce backwards skating. YOu do a c-cut backwards and put your free foot foward, but you're not skating obliquely (like in back crossovers) but directly backwards. Unless you have a really flexible neck you'll need a spotter. I can't do big girl back stroking yet.
Anyway everyone, these comments have been very interesting.
