I noticed that some of the women were wearing gloves...are gloves a part of some of the outfits now, or was it that cold? I've never seen gloves worn in competition before, unless in an interpretive or spotlight event. Just curious.

It was a bit cold out there... not as cold as in NYC a few weeks ago, but cold enough. On my tape you can easily see steam coming out of some of the skater's mouths. I also wore gloves for my program... it didn't really go with my costume but what the hey, at least I was comfortable.
