Everybody Needs to Brag Once in a While

Hi everybody,

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where you can brag about your achievements in Figure Skating. You can brag about tests you've passed, competitions, or things you've done for the first time. Here are mine:

Tests: I passed my Gold Skill
I passed my Jr. Silver Freeskate
I passed my Jr. Silver Elements

Congrats Muskoka!

here's my list of achievements over the past year and a half:
  • USFS Adult Basic 1-4
  • ISI Alpha-Delta

I'm working on ISI and USFS Freestyle 1 now, and I'll be taking my adult pre-bronze MIF in March.

- Landed all my double sals and axels today
- Decent double loops and toeloops
- Awesome combination spins
- Strong run-through on my competition program (didn't want to die, LOL!)
- Viennese Waltz felt pretty and strong

-Mostly everything is back to where it was (and better in some cases) before I had surgery on my ankle
-My camel has gotten SO much better.
-My lutz is consistent now!
-I am a lot more confident about my dances, and I think it shows.

Hopefully I can update this in about 9 days and say that I've passed Silver Moves, the Canasta Tango, and the Rhythm Blues

  • I can brag today that my flip has a lot more spring to it and it's becoming lighter (though not necessarily more consistent... )
  • I can also brag this morning that I landed a couple of good lutzes and the secondary coach says "Well, it looks like it's time for me to start you on the axel..." (Dum dum DUUUUUUM!!!! )

My favorite personal achievement was passing junior moves. It took 3 tries, but now I'm really good at rockers and choctaws! And, when I finally passed, I was passed by all three judges. That hadn't happened since juvenile moves.

On the lutz today: I said coming out of it, "OMG that was huge, I could have turned it into a double lutz"

Coach exclaims: "Totally! we'll do that next."

me: "awesome!!"
