Yeah technically, but she's not getting much push. But she picked a music that doesn't require it so that's okay I guess.

ballet for a year when i was 7-8 yrs
modern dance for a year when i was 11-12 yrs

thus ended my dancing career. i didn't like it. i think my ballet teacher was sad, apparently i had so much potential...

helping skating-wise, well I don't know, I haven't danced for more than a year before beginning skating, but I think my general flexibility was better after dance.

Regarding Healy - lovely, but it does kind of annoy me when people rave about her as a skater because she has nice positions, when really, if you looked at her edges rather than her leg position in her spiral - they were quite wobbly. I felt the same way about Sasha Cohen, although her edges did improve. But it bothers me that skating is becoming more about being a contortionist than holding a good edge. I still prefer Dorthy Hamil's straight backed, hip level, secure edge spiral.

That's what I meant with basic skills. Her spiral looked stable enough to me, but inbetween the meek crossovers (which at least are smooth, to give her some credit) she wasn't doing much. The most difficult move was a double 3-turn.
Understandable, if you've been off the ice for 7 years but it's kind of annoying yeah. But at least they did a good job picking the music to make it less noticeable.
But somehow when I see that... I've got a skating friend who's 32 years old and has been skating for 4 years and does double toes and axels. Anyway technically, she skates better than this (presentation wise not).
