Catsuits/bodysuits

I am looking for some (with cold winter mornings in mind) for my daughter. The ones from dancing shops are very thin lycra. Anybody know any good suppliers for something a little bit thicker/studier?

I recently bought (while at a skating competition) a really useless water-repellent leggings and top. Really useless because by the time I had the length to fit my slim daughter, they were so baggy her coach teased her (quite appropriately) about skatng in pyjama's!

So - I'm after something fitted, slightly fleecy (or thicker than the thin dance lycra). Doesn't need sleeves as she usually warms up reasonably quickly once skating. We're just going to be leaving the house in 0 degree temperatures which I think will be tough in tights and skating dresses.

Its our first winter ever of early mornings as she is a fairly recent skater.

It's not cheap but is this what you are looking for? http://www.northerniceanddance.com/s...it-p-1871.html and another http://www.usaskates.com/skatingdresses/ajr0150.html

Can you sew? Jalie 991 http://www.jalie.com/sewingpatterns/...overs/991.html is a bodysuit. Of course, finding appropriate fabric might be just as difficult (though less expensive!)

One of the teeny girls (I think she's 8 or 10?) at the rink skates in what looks like footy pajamas. I'm SURE they aren't really- but they sure look like it, right down to the fuzzy material I can always remember.

Given the prices think I may well be making some catsuits! The fleece/polartec leggings are not so badly priced - but the catsuits seem to be quite expensive.

Whether you buy one or make it yourself, do keep in mind the bathroom issue . There's nothing like tromping into "the facilities" in your skates and having to peel down not only your skating costume -- pants or skirt -- and two pair of tights PLUS a leotard, bodysuit, or whatever . Some leotards come with a snap-closure crotch, which makes life so much easier!

If you are having one made, it's infinitely worth getting that put in as a feature! Makes life massively easier!

We never used catsuits, for that very reason. It was much easier to deal with a warmup suit of pants and a jacket.

cat suits

they seem to have quite a selection of skating gear at http://skatingboutique.com

I was ordering stocking stuffers and wonder if they don't have some warm gear at that site
