I'm 33 and skate freestyle at the pre-bronze level (although I haven't tested yet). I stepped on the ice for the first time when I was 30, and have been taking lessons on and off since. I have my waltz, toe loop, and salchow jumps, and am desperately trying to get a good entrance to the 1-foot spin!

I'm 22 and have been skating since I was 6. I went through Canskate and Canfigure, then did mainly synchro starting when I was 11. I skated synchro up to Senior Competitive, and now I skate on an Adult Festival team. I just started taking my dances, something I've been wanting to do for a while. I'm hoping to get into synchro judging, or even skate Senior again in a few years. I'm working on my Junior Bronze dances right now. As far as singles elements....I can do a decent one-foot spin, never could manage a backspin!! When I was younger I could manage a waltz jump, toe loop, loop, salchow, half-flip, and split jump. I can still do the waltz, but my toe loop is really more of a toe-waltz. Loop, no way! and my salchow comes and goes.

Adult WHAT LEVEL

Well. I was a child skater, didn't go far..to much money even in the late 70's.I am 40 ( well at least for about 3 more weeks).I have passed the Junior Bronze Free, Junior Bronze Dances, Preliminary Skills, Adult Artistic and I passed the Introductory...Bronze and Silver Interpretive test in a 4 week span this 2003 season. I am working on the European to complete my Senior Bronze Dances..yes I am Canadian!!

I started on skates at age 36, figured ..why sit in the stands and watch my daugher have all the fun.I got the desire to get new skates and it went from there.
I have been laughed at, snubbed and alot of other rude stuff while on sessions with the younger skaters, but I went on and did my thing.

Adult skater respect each other and we have a blast in the dressing rooms at competitions.the younger skaters could learn alot from adult skaters in regards to respecting their fellow skaters.

Well enough about me..Tell me about you.

I'm 14...

Yeah I'm 14, and I have passed my Interm. MIF and Juv. Freeskate... not too great but yeah. I agree with all of you who say reading these make you feel like you have no talent at all!! I started working on double axel, and I have all of my other doubles consistant.. except for that stupid d. flip! I could probably be better if I let my coach send me out to a different city to train.. but I don't want to leave. See my town is TINY like poulation of 6,000.. and we only have on rink, so I end up skating like 3 or 4 hours a week! I don't know how to use any of this.. so could somebody show me??

41 year old

Well I am 41 on July 6th, so I will say I am 41..lol..I quit skating at age 15, and returned at age 39.My Skate Canada test pasesd and these are not adult tests but regular stream- Junior Bronze Free, Junior Bronze Dance with 2 Senior Bronze dances under my belt.I am on the Junior Bronze Skills, I passed the Adult Artistic test. This season I passed the Introductory, Bronze and Silver Interpretive tests.

I love to perform on the ice and the physical challenge it gives me.I really enjoy being a PA for Can Skate and enjoy arranging fun raisers to help skaters fund for travel costs. I volunteer as much as I can in all aspects of the Figure Skating sport because I love it!!

I am not the best skater out there as an adult, but I am the best that I can be for me!!

Nope. In the USFSA structure I have passed 2 out of 3 bronze dances (and no pre-silvers, obviously), so the ones I'm "working on" (although I have been focusing on freestyle the last few years instead) are Ten-Fox, Fourteenstep, Foxtrot, and European.

Of those four dances, my favorite is the European. I really don't like any of the other three very much, which is one reason I'm not focusing on dance lately.

I think it's a matter of some people preferring mohawks and some preferring three turns.

Edited to add that I'm a year and 3 days older than GoldieMedal. :-)
