Passed Novice Moves!!

Hey everyone,

If you read the practice thread, you saw that I was testing Novice Moves today...and I PASSED!! Passed over by all 3 judges. Had issues with the quick rocker/choctaw pattern, which I knew, and touched down on my first bracket-3-bracket pattern and had to reskate the 1st half of it. I have a feeling that coach is going to torture me with the rocker/choctaw pattern in the future though...oh well....now it's on to Junior!!! The goal is to pass those over the summer-ish to avoid getting caught in a funky limbo...

Wow, that's so fantastic!! Congratulations!!
Now that you're done, can you loan all of your moves to me? I don't need the CW quick rocker-chocktaw or brackets because--ironically--those are the only things I can do decently, LOL!

Of course!!! My counters and spirals are pretty good

Thank you everyone...I am very excited to have passed this test

Coach commented that that was the quickest she has seen anyone complete that test...I was flying...coach and my friend were lucky that I like them...they were poking so much fun at me once I was done....

Here are the comments:

Back/Forward Inside 3s: Judge 1: 3.6, loss of balance 2nd end, flowed well; Judge 2: 3.6, good BI step down, perp axis and pattern OK; Judge 3: 3.5, Last end loss of balance - good recovery and attack, loss of rhythm in end pattern

Quick Rocker/Choctaw: Judge 1: 3.4, stiff across ends, laboured --> ends; Judge 2: 3.6, same as above for FI; Judge 3: 3.4, pattern shape could be better, jammed into end boards, scratchy ends - slightly off balance

Outside Counters: Judge 1: 3.5, controlled; Judge 2: 3.6, good edges in and out; Judge 3: 3.5, 1st quarter wobbly then okay with edges and rhythm

Inside Counters: Judge 1: 3.5, Make sure you're on a solid edge after back turns; Judge 2: 3.6, Same as above; Judge 3: 3.6, generally good flow and control throughout

Back Rocker/Choctaw: Judge 1: 3.6, nicely skated; Judge 2: 3.6, well done; Judge 3: 3.5, a little choppy - good overall control

Spiral: Judge 1: 3.6, Nice stretch; Judge 2: 3.6, edges ok, extension ok; Judge 3: 3.6, nice line and extension - some scratchiness

Bracket-3-Bracket: Judge 1: 3.5: reskate - 1st 1/2 foot down --> much better; Judge 2: 3.6, well done; Judge 3: 3.5, choppy turns - foot down, reskate okay

Really awesome! What a great achievement! You should really be proud. I hear Junior and Senior are not as hard.

Absoultey wonderful! Congratulations!

Novice has always been one of my favorite levels to coach, and my very favorite/strongest level back when I tested my MIF.
