New Skater!
Hey everybody.
I'm a newish skater, been doing it for a while now and thinking it might be time to buy some skates. Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of what skates to buy. Ones probably on the lower price range but still decent, also nothing to fancy or advanced if you know what i mean...something basic but good - And quick! ![]() Cheers, Tom. |

Welcome Tom! The best place to post your question is at the On Ice - Skaters forum. You should get lots of answers to all your questions there.

Hi Tom, where do you skate? Does your rink have a shop?
I'm in Tasmania, so I don't know about places in Sydney. I have been talking to Margaret at (I think) the Canterbury rink, and she seems very helpful and knowledgeable about boots. Nice to meet another Aussie.

Your best bet for getting them quick is to see what the different rinks in Sydney either have in stock or can order in for you. I know Penrith do have some stock on hand, but not sure as to what brand, but they do order in SP Teri's. Just ring around the different rinks and they should be able to help you.
Here is a link to all the different rinks in NSW. You're best bet to get something good would be to either speak to your coach (if you have one, even if it's your group lesson coach) or ask if the rink has someone with enough knowledge to help you make a decision. But seeing as you're a beginner, stict to your budget. My first pair of boots were Risport Laser's and they've lasted quiet a while. Hope this helps. |
