I changed from MK21 to Coronation Ace. Was more or less adjusted after a few hours but then I forgot how large the picks on coronation ace were compared to mk21 and my foot stuck in the ice and i fell backwards.
3 weeks later, I still don't have my lutz back and my flip and loop only if I really really focus and ignore the pain.

Sessy: Eeeeek...that is not a good sign for me as I am just learning the loop. My new blades are in but I cannot pick them up yet. My rink has a broken something and both sheets are currently a puddle! Had to skate my alternative rink today...and missed my coaching yesterday and today. Even my LTS class is effected. I had really hoped to have all weekend to adjust. Ah well..always something!

Tech: Turns out you were right. The club contacted me and apparently they would let me skate in bronze level. They said it is atypical for a no test adult to enter into this particular competition. I think I am still going to just shoot for the July one. I really want to see if my spins and jumps are easier on the new blades. I will at least be used to them by July!

I meant I did not have my jumps back because of the anckle sprain, not because of the blades. But I would not have sprained my anckle without the blades and their picks (yet, I also still would not have a decent spin if I had not switched blades). But as long as you dont get injured itll be like two or three practices to adjust.

Arccckk...all that worry for nothing! My total adjustment time to my new blades lasted about 10 minutes. I was apprehensive about jumping but had no difficulty at all. Can't say I notice too big of a difference in them. I did notice that my toe loop was easier...I am sure from just being able to get my toe pick in the ice so well. Other than that...not sure it added or depleted anything.

Thanks for your support in my over dramatic anticipation! Now remind me of that next time I start to flip out over change! I am such a creature of habit!

Hey Dallas,
Hooray for toe picks and red hooded sweatshirts! I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your new blades. Isn't it funny how ones own problems tend to be affected by hyperopia as well? I think I could say the same for me. We are here for you to free-associate any time you want. after all, what are forum friends for?

(*sigh* wonder how spa-mama is doing?... I bet her DD is landing axels by now. )

Ha Ha - still havent braved the booties, but DD and her axel - depends on the day!!! Had it great before Thanksgiving, totally lost it till middle of January, got it back on a monday, and got the double sal 4 days later. When it rains it pours! Unfortunately, axel playing major mind tricks on DD, I keep assuring her it is totally normal, but she is not a happy camper about it!
Have to remind her it is her one year anniversary for skating - give herself a break, but it doesnt help much. Maybe Ill put on the booties and show her some REALLY bad skating!!!

Maybe you need to be sympathetic towards her by putting on the booties yourself and go thru what she's going thru before she believes 'ya!!!

(C'mon, SpaMama!!! Time to skate! The ice is fine!!!)

SpaMama,
Yeah, loop is playing mind games with me too. I feel your DD's pain.

You should quit threatening us all and make it a promise!!! (...standing next to DallasSkater, Jazzpants et al... in the middle of the center of the ice looking in your direction) We beckon you: "C'mon SpaMama, git on out here!!!" You know we just don't want you to miss out on all the fun!: P
