I'll go first..

I've been skating three years and this is what I've learned.

1. The only limitations in skating is a persons attitude and hard work.

2. Have fun and sing everytime you skate.

3. Be kind to others and show respect.

4. Let your peers know when you see progress, and they will do the same for you. Support and encourage each other.

5. Don't offer "negatives" unless asked.

6. Skating peers come in all ages and sexes.

7. Hear much, say little about personal topics. The rink is a small comminity.

8. Forgive. Life is to short to hold onto grudges.

9. Skating is made up of an endless list of things to learn, improve, and master.

Personal things I've learned.

1. I'm capable of more than I ever believed as a skater.

2. I'm pretty darn brave. (hmmmm Maybe stupid. =-))

3. I'm a hard worker.

4. Not to give up.

5. Skating talks to my spirit.

6. That I love to be challenged.

7. That I'm a child at heart.

Okay, I'll try a few.

1. The rink isn't my whole life. It's a wonderful part of it.

2. 50% of the pleasure is the skating. The other 50% is the people I see there.

3. Give congratulations to others. Find something nice to say - there is always something nice about a spin, jump, etc.

4. Ask for help. It's usually given freely.

5. If you don't like the music playing - make your own. I couldn't do a one foot spin at all until I hummed Carmen!

6. Don't get too down on yourself. Think about all you've achieved. Wow!

(I think some of these are duplicates - oh well, could be great minds think alike!)
