The Flame Within

Hahahahahaha, ok, this pokes fun at adult skaters so you may not want to watch it if you're sensitive, but sometimes one must make fun of themselves, and I found this quite humorous.

That was great! Reminiscent of the Saturday Night Live masterpiece with Harry Shearer and Martin Short as aspiring synchronized swimmers. (Can we post youtube links here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WxCEkhGbfM Admins forgive me if I have sinned.)

Brilliantly done! And not insulting to adult skaters at all, IMO.
Yes, it does remind me a bit of the old SNL male synchronized swimming team sketch (my favorite moment: "I'm not a 'strong' swimmer"-Martin Short)

I think that if someone furnished Christopher Guest with copies of (a) "The Flame Within", (b) the Short/Shearer synchro swimming bit from SNL, and (c) a few recent copies of "Geezerjock" magazine, he'd have his next movie inspiration. Of course, Harry Shearer has appeared in at least three of Guest's movies, so he's already got that pipeline in place. One can only hope!

My favorite is the coach that they get to act all goofy too.

This one's funny too:

"Watch the trials and tribulations of a young woman as she struggles to become "made" into a figure skater."
