I've done singles, dance and synchro. I started singles in 1990, started dance in 1994, then started synchro in 1995. I've done singles and dance all the way through, but not synchro. I skated synchro 1995-1999, then 2001-2002, and I might do synchro again in this upcoming season.

Lol. I just do ice dance and freestyle, because I'm still in teststream!

I'm an ice dancer, but I've tried everything except pairs. I still plan to get to it one day!

different types of skating....
well, I've done the kind where you land stuff, the kind where you fall, the kind where you fight with the coach etc....

Actually, I've stuck strictly to competitive singles... and am still at it. Off to State Games this week! woo hoo!!!!

By the way, anyone here doing MidAtlantics or Lake Placid Summer Freestyle comps?? just curious.

Hester

I have tried Dance, but I didnt like it at all. My coaches all told me to move up and test because of my edging and line, but I didnt want to do it.

Now its just singles for me.

well to maybe answer your question

when i first started skating (19yo) , i was all about jumps, and i really ignored edges. i actually "progressed" at a fast rate landing my first axel within 3 months of skating.

but then i plateued and got bored. so i took a year off and picked up snowboarding. and that actually helped because it taught me the importance of edges and to bend before approaching a jump.

i recently returned to skating, and have got the fever again. but this time i've come to enjoy working on three turns in all directions and pure skating. and it has helped me to improve the jumps, which i still love.

i wonder how many skaters also snowboard?

I've done singles and synchro, and am dying to start dance! No extra time or money right now, though. Hopefully soon!
