I have the pleasure of finally meeting two of the Rinksiders!!!

Mel did a wonderful job in her FS2 program and got the Silver!!! She look very smooth and confident on the ice...despite the flying saucers (rather than butterflies) that were in her stomach. (I met her on the bleachers about an hour before she had to go on...she was STRESSED and was comforted mainly by her hubby!!!) She had on this pretty black glittery dress today that gave her some nice flow too!!!

But the big news is for icepony...who so far has 2nd in FS3 Solo Compulsaries, 1st in Footwork...and 1st in FS 3!!! WOO HOO!!! You go, girl!!! I met her and her mom last night at the skater's party (with tons of food!!!) Boy, she's such a riot!!! And I am so touched...she officially made me a Rinksider with the Rinksider's T-shirt!!! I'm so totally honored!!!

The other interesting story... we have a FS10 guy today!!! (Shane?) I LOVE watching this guy do his solo compulsory this morning. Get this... FOUR axels in a row...alternating directions!!! (i.e. CCW axel, then a CW axel, then CCW axel again and then a CW axel again!!!)

Of course, the light entertainment pieces are outrageous as usual... (The one that's most noteable to me is the Flipper number (a woman dressed up in a shark's outfit complete w/fins on her legs)...followed by Tigger and the guy in a Hawaiian shirt who brought a tree with him...don't ask me how he got that on the plane!!!)

There's more events tomorrow at ISI Adult Champ...but I'll let Mel and Chris fill in, since I will be at ANOTHER competition (St. Moritz) cheering the adults on there!!!

YOU GO, GIRLS!!!!

I talked several times with my girlfriend who was competing with her synchro team at the competition. She said the rink was terrific and the area was beautiful. They were all having a terrific time.

Their team, Sapphire Ice, placed second in both their long and short programs. Mel-on-Ice can fill in the details as she's on the team, too.

Congrats! sounds like a great time for all.
