Loaf of Bread?
For the second or third time on this board, I have read "loaf of bread" in reference to particular type of technique. I think I've seen it used in reference to both spins and jumps. Can someone explain what this means to me?

Mel On Ice and I learned this technique from Kathy Casey in reference to the axel.
If you're doing the axel from a standstill, hold your hands in front of you as if you're holding a loaf of bread, then push, swing your arms back, jump and pull in. (I hope that makes sense! )This technique seemed to help keep me from leaning too far into the circle on takeoff.

Okay, I can think of about 5 different ways to hold a loaf of bread. Could you explain a little more, please?

think of the standard size of a loaf of bread, and hold your hands out in front of you, about the height of your belly button, that width apart.
