All I did was stroking, turns, and went through patterns on MIF tests I had already passed (I'd pick a few each week), worked a bit on the test I was on, and I'd skate through dances at or above my level to help remember the patterns for when I started lessons again. But my goal really was only to stay on the ice even if only an hour a week so when I had time to skate more and take lessons again, I wouldn't have to go through getting back into it.

Trying to learn to skate or improve significantly off of once a week? Now that is certainly hard.
I think their point is that you will need to rebuild your skills if you only participate in your sports once a week and unless you understand that, it can be frustrating.

Uh oh...I can only afford to skate once a week right now. It's frustrating as I can't progress at all, and my sit spin is gone again. I'm working on silver moves instead, because I've already learned most of them, I need to work on passing standard.

It would be MUCH worse if I didn't skate at all though! Hopefully I can pick up a second day soon (apparently getting a raise but I won't hold my breath)

Retry: I was only able to skate for half an hour today. I'm too fatigued from this lyme. But we switched back to IV meds so hopefully my energy level will go up soon.

pass: My backsit was actually pretty good today, and I managed to get a pretty position in my layback so that made me happy.

Nice job on the spins! I'm impressed that you can do a reverse camel!
Here's a secret trick on the catch foot spiral: To stay balanced with your foot higher than your head, just push your chest down while pushing your free leg back and away from you (try to straighten it behind you as you hold onto the blade). The same trick will give you a great catch foot camel position, too!

if you're looking for tips, try thinking of rolling your eyes up in the back of your head while doing your layback - your position is really nice - if you relax your head a bit and let it drop back just a wee bit more it'll round out the whole "lay back" For me the trick was rolling my eyes up in the back of my head - rather than trying to initiate the move from my neck or something.

I enjoyed your video!
