I just downloaded the Adult Mids announcement and forms from the Ann Arbor FSC. It appears that there are a number of really neat opportunities for those of us who are at the lower end of the adult skating food chain - skating up IS permitted in the nonqualifying freestyle events, and there are compulsory and spin events that also permit skating up a level. And there is even a Beginner Adult Interpretive event for skaters below the Bronze Freestyle level - someone has evidently taken to heart the desire of some beginning adults to skate ( ) even if our infuriating joints don't want us to jump.

Now all I need is the nerve to actually DO this, as well as a dress that will flow gently and gracefully around my rather zaftig assets. Oh, yeah, and a WHOLE lot of practice between now and then.
