Finding a sponsor

I heard some people in the rink today talking about sponsors and I am wondering how it is done. Can you tell me about it? Thanks!

well when skaters start training competitively, their costs start to escalate..sometimes to 30,000 a year. Often if a skater has done well and at a high level they will be able to obtain sponsorship via their organization and other corporate donations.

Sometimes lower level competitive skaters will send out letters to organizations asking for financial assistance. Sometimes they are lucky and local businesses may help them out a little, but it doesnt happen often.
