anyone received their 2005-2005 USFS rule book?

So my check that I sent for the USFS rule book was cleared in July, and I still haven't gotten my rule book. Has anyone else received their rule book yet?

They're supposed to be out before Sept. 1 but for some reason this year they aren't.

I didn't get mine either. In August, I emailed to ask when I would receive it. They said that the new book, with 9/1/05 rule changes, would be done by September, so I would probably get the book mid-September.

I usually get mine relayed from my coach through our club, so I don't usually get it until almost 10/1

I don't have mine yet either. USFSA said it should be mid-September.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this question but -

Does anyone have an OLD rule book (last year or two years ago) that they don't need/want just so I can see some of the patterns? I haven't joined USFSA yet but I'd like to start studying patterns so I'm familiar with terminology. I'll be happy to pay for whatever shipping costs are involved.

I could be wrong about this, but I don't know that you have to be a member in order to buy the rule book. You can order it from the USFS web site, and it's not in an area that's password protected for members only. I think when I ordered mine, I provided my USFS member number, but I don't think the order form stated that you HAVE to be a member. If that's the case, you might want to just go ahead and buy the newest version of the rule book so that you have the most up to date copy.

(Also, in case anyone out there is considering becoming an individual member of USFS--that is, not through a figure skating club--I _think_ that a rule book is included in the cost of an individual membership. I could be wrong about this, though.)

You're correct Mikawendy, an individual membership does include a new rulebook. Due to the madness of my last 12 months, I actually forgot to renew. I usually join a local club as an associate, which is fairly inexpensive. When I realized my error (which jeopardized my insurance!) I renewed online as an individual. In May/June, I received a copy of the 2004-2005 book.

I renewed again for 2005-2006 as individual (early for once), but I haven't received the new manual as yet.

Ack it does? I bought a rulebook (with no member number), and at the same time joined my skating club (which hasn't gone through either, and this was end of June, July). Does that mean I will get two rule books?

Only if your club membership includes a rule book. I don't think most clubs do, I know that mine does not.

It's when you join USFS as an individual member (not affiliated with a club) that a rule book is included.
