Adult Skating Camps - USA 2007 *Updated*

Does anyone know if the dates for the adult camps at Ice house or Lake Placid for the summer have been announced? I'd love to attend one or both if I can! Thanks!

I'd like to attend the Ice house camp this year also, so any information would be helpful.

The August Adult Week at Lake Placid is August 19-25th. I don't know what the July one is. The reason why I know this is because I'm putting together an "Adult Pairs Clinic" with the Protopopovs for the August week.

Ice House Adult Camp

They don't have this year's flyer up yet. This was last year Ice House Adult Camp link. Schedule is always around the last weekend of June. Last year, I made the plan to go but was tighted up at work and had to miss it again.

Are you sure Ice House is having one this year? Web site has nothing about it. I am thinking about it. Maybe will consider the lake placid one if NJ does not have one. Has anyone ever done this? How much ice time is typically included? Looks like the lake placid one has a entry fee then classes are extra. Do you get ice time for the entry fee?

Would love to hear from anyone who has participated about the experience and the cost effectiveness of this.

Someone had said that the Ice House in Hackensack wasn't certain about the Adult Camp being held this year. http://www.skatingforums.com/showthr...ackensack+camp
They don't have the kids' camp flyer up as yet, either.

I wonder if the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ might offer an adult camp this year?
I stopped teaching and skating there, so I'm out of touch.

There was also a post about another adult camp in Atlanta, Georgia in early June of last year. It was hosted by the Atlanta Figure Skating Club. Anyone know if they're planning an adult camp again this year?

Didn't Aspen host two camps last year?

aw man!!! I can't go in june because of my son's schedule, and I have something else obligating my time in August...

Mt. Pleasant in Baltimore is having their one-day adult thing again-I can make that (it's only one day)...cant remember the day but I think it is June 3rd (I will check and repost).

Thanks for the update. I had so much fun last year. I'm definitely planning on going back.

Looks like I will be going to Lake Placid adult camp in June...anyone else going?
Still trying to get them to respond for additional information. If anyone has a favorite place to stay or anything that is a must do there...I am all ears!
Everything I have googled looks great! But always nice to hear from folks that have been to a place first.

I am excited as I more typically take a cruise in June. This will be something different!

Depending on the Coach/Special Guest line up, I may go to the Hackensack camp. I was unable to go last year due to Surgery but heard I didn't miss much. I thought the year before was helpfull. I got Robin Wagner to sign the bottom of my right boot!

From the Lake Placid summer schedule, it looks like they finally took out the Lussi rink (where patch has always been). Patch is still on the schedule - 1:00 pm on the 1932 rink. The Lussi rink used to have two daily patch times - bummer!

Plus, that was such a great little rink.

I see in the announcement for the camp at Ice House that there is a Choreography and Critique sessions on the first day. Does anyone know anything more about this? It says it is limited to three skaters.

Never mind I just found it. It says that Nikolia Morosov and staff will critique programs and offer help with choreography. How cool is that???

I am not so sure about that...the building project has been put on hold from what my sources are telling me. I sent off an e-mail this morning to friends up there and asked them to find out what the story is....

Stay tuned........

Ice House Info

This is the info the Ice House just sent to me about their adult camp:

June 29 - July 1, 2007
Hackensack, New Jersey

The Ice House's annual Adult Training Camp is always a big hit. This year it features the largest number of World, Olympic and International skaters ever assembled for this camp.

* Miki Ando - 2007 World Champion
* Daisuke Takahshi - 2007 World Silver Medalist
* Kyoko Ina & John Zimmerman
* Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernychev
* Kristin Fraser & Igor Lukanin

Notice that John Zimmerman is going to be there this year? He wasn't there last year.

Nicolai Morozov is also going to be there.

Tim, I may attend. I'll be doing dance, so we likely won't be on the same ice - you'll be doing freestyle, yes? But if I see you, I'll be sure to say "Hi!"
