Which spinner is better?
My friend has an extra of this "rotation trainer" which I've not heard much of.
![]() Is it good? Does it spin like spinning on the ice? I'm also looking at this plastic spinner which I know has been discussed in other threads, and also has a cool video on youtube. ![]() It's said that you must be centered to spin, and that it feels like spinning on the ice. That is what makes me so attracted to it - replication of feeling on ice. The idea of getting a spinner is so that I can work on my body posture and to get centering. I also will like to gain speed. So the question is - which is the better spinner? |

I have the plastic "foot-shaped" one, which I like very much for working turns on. Difficulty is, of course, that checking doesn't actually stop you rotating..... I was playing with it in the corridor of our block of flats the other day and only meant to do one turn.

I had a metal spinner back when I was trying to learn the backspin. I didn't feel like spinning on the ice at all. Is that thing made entirely of plastic? Wow I would be scared to spin on it. I'd rather fall on the ice trying. LOL

not a fan of spinners. IMO they dont do much except make you dizzy and spin off.

Imo -
I don't know about those two models of spinners (I like the square metal ones; I have the gold round metal one). IMO, they're great for jump rotation training, not as much for spin training.
there's a whole set of exercises to do on them - I took a seminar once that went over them by Tommy Litz - but others know them too. Basically you isolate positions and movements that occur within the whole jump envelope and work on those. Sara |

Seems like the rotation trainer doesn't have many users.
Thanks for the replies! |
