Woo hoo! My 8 yo dd landed her axel last night m
7x clean, a few times a bit cheated, and a few times without a good gliding landing, but she was on a roll! Her coach got it on video. Of course, this morning, she only managed one time with a fall after landing....
But, she seems to be on her way. |

Fantastic!
![]() Patience will be key, but soon enough, she'll be getting it more consistent. |

OMG.
At over 50 I've been skating 9 or 10 years, longer than she's been alive. I'm mostly stuck with 1/2 rotation jumps for the past 7 or 8, unless I cheat. ![]() Unfair! But fantastic for her. |

She is relatively patient with herself, so I think she'll do well. She was able, most times, to tell her coach what she did wrong and when she didn't rotate all the way, so a step in the right direction.

LOL, sorry! She is a strong little bugger. I am afraid to try a waltz jump.

Great news! The funny part is you'll be counting them for a while at least until they come so often you can no longer keep track. I'm happy for your dd.
CONGRATULATIONS!! |

Re: Congrats on your 8 year old daughter landing her axel.
Hi mumof3chicks
Congrats on your 8 year old daughter landing her first axel. At least she is still at a relatively young age, so she will progress quickly. ![]() As for me, I am still working at salchow, and loop jump lol. ![]() londonicechamp |

Thank you! Yesterday, she came really close to a perfect landing starting from a moving position! She landed it clean, but fell before the glide, it was spectacular.
