NISA Figures tests - levels 1-3

Has anyone took the above-mentioned recently? Could you then please list the requirements? I requested a booklet from NISA but it hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting curious.....

I have taken up to level 2 and hope to take level 3 in the not too distant future. The requirements for the elements tests are as follows:-

level 1 bronze
simple forwards perimeter stroking in both directions
waltz (3) jump or salchow
toe loop (cherry flip)
upright spin (min 3 revs)
forward and backward spirals held for a min of 10 metres
simple step sequence 10 metres

level 2 bronze
forward perimeter stroking, with crossovers across the ends of the rink, to be skated clockwise and anti-clockwise using a max of 4 to 6 strokes along the sides.
waltz jump (3 jump) with flow
salchow or toe-loop with flow
upright spin (min 5 revs)
sit spin (min 3 revs)
back upright spin with a forward inside 3 turn entry (1 or 2 revs) entry from forward spin not allowed
straight line step sequence half length of rink

level 3 Bronze
figure of 8 crossovers
loop jump
flip jump
jump combination with toe loop as the second jump
camel spin (3 revs)
back upright spin with a forward inside 3 turn entry (min 3 revs) entry from forward spin not allowed
straight line step sequence, to include forward and backward 3 turns, full length

The freeskating tests are as follows:-

Level 1 - programme of 1 min 30 secs that includes
2 jumps
1 spin (min 3 revs)
1 spiral forwards or backwards
1 step sequence 10 metres

Level 2 - programme
1 min 30 secs +/ 5 secs
2 different jumps
1 jump combination
2 different basic spins (min 3 revs)
1 spiral forwards or backwards
1 step sequence 2/3 length of the rink

Level 3 - programme
1 min 30 secs +/- 5 sec
2 different jumps including a flip
1 jump combination
min of 2 different spins (min 3 rev)
1 step sequence full length

Hope this helps.

Nicki

And, just so's you know, here are the requirements for the dance tests:

Compulsory dances:
Level 1 Bronze: Novice Foxtrot and Rhythm Blues

Level 2 Bronze: Dutch Waltz and Canasta Tango

Level 3 Bronze: Golden Skaters' Waltz and Riverside Rhumba

I can't be bothered to look up the pass marks for each level, but you do have to pass both dances at the same time, and the total score must be - I think - just more than the total of the two pass marks.

Variation/Original Dances:
Level 1 Bronze: Variation Rhythm Blues
Level 2 Bronze: Variation Canasta Tango
Level 3 Bronze: Variation Foxtrot (and nobody knows _what_ the PTB were thinking of when they put that at level 3 - most Level 3 skaters can barely stumble and kick their way through a Foxtrot anyway, never mind a variation on it!)

Free dance:
Level 1 Bronze: 1 minute
Level 2 Bronze: 1 minute
Level 3 Bronze: 1 minute 30 seconds
(in all case +/- 5 seconds, and no required elements are specified)

Dance Moves:
Level 1 Bronze: 1 lap forward outside edges; 1 lap forward cross-rolls
Level 2 Bronze: 1 lap forward inside edges; 1 lap changes of edge (1/2 outside-to-inside; 1/2 inside-to-outside; with a forward crossover between each one).
Level 3 Bronze: 1 lap back cross-strokes; 1 lap back cross-rolls

Just fyi.
