I'm going to be featured in a book!

As you may or may not know, I've had lyme disease for almost 3 years now and I started skating 2 years ago as sort of a way to escape from the pain.

I emailed this woman who posted on icenetwork about a book she was writing about figure skaters and she decided to put me in it!

It's going to be called "Skating Forward. Twelve Amazing Young Women (Plus One) Who Celebrate Life on Ice." I'm the plus one I believe haha.

You all have to buy it when it comes out.

Oh, my gosh! Congratulations! That's so cool. You'll have to link us all to where we can get the book when it comes out.

Any more details on it?

this is what the message on icenetwork said:

I am currently working on a book titled "Skating Forward. Twelve Amazing Young Women Who Celebrate Life on Ice." I have been asked to submit a proposal to my publisher. If you have a young female skater who has an inspirational story to tell (perhaps skating with a disability or a personal hardship) but continues to skate for the love of the sport, please contact me.
and she also sent this in an email:

Quote:
I have 14 inspiring young women participating in this project who are cancer survivors or skating with epilepsy, diabetes, hearing loss, Lyme disease and many other debilitating illnesses or returning to skating after accidents. I can't wait for readers to meet all of you, read your wonderful stories and celebrate life on ice with you.
so yeah I'm really excited

I do find it amusing she says in her email top you she has "14 inspiring young women" -- but the book title says "12 Amazing Young Women (plus one)" .....

That's what I was thinking, so maybe she'll have to change the title LOL.

Very exciting. I continue to be amazed at how far you've gone in skating while coping with Lyme disease. Let us know when the book comes out!
