Hahaha! I had exactly the same thought!

The only video I have is from my third or fourth group lesson. Not worth watching. Also I can't figure out how to get it from the camera to the computer, but I'll worry about that when I have a video I actually WANT to share.

Sorry, don't have any videos (and probbly wouldn't be worth watching if I did).

But if only someone had had a camera at the rink yesterday when one (male) coach borrowed our (female) coach to demonstrate a BO death spiral to a third coach and her student...and all fell over! More than once!! All applauded

Then the male coach used our coach to demonstrate a FO drape and its exit (successfully and very elegantly). All applauded (sincerely this time!). Then our coach tried to teach DH and me the drape...first DH dropped her, then we fell over - at the same time that the other group was trying to get the drape working, and they fell over too. Many adult bodies sprawled on centre ice at once. Our coach was the only one left standing in the exercise and she looked rather bemused, as well she might!

Tango OD done w/ coach for a pro-am competition at the beginning of the summer......note how he forgets his steps in the middle of the straightline footwork!

And here's our Kilian, same day. Camera operator didn't get it into focus before starting.....maybe looks better that way! Edges still aren't anywhere deep enough for testing, but that was probably the best I've skated it so far.

I have almost my whole competitive history on the web:
http://www.gerfsc.com/videos.htm

Started skating at 37 (1997), first competition 2000.
The videos start at Bronze and continue through Gold Pairs.

I have some videos. I'm either incredibly brave or stupid for posting them where others can watch but whatever. If it helps others to not make my same mistakes, I'm ok with that!

Ok I know this is an old post but I finally put a video of my willow waltz on youtube so here it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkvJNopQfGI

Note the almost crashing into the barrier and the adjustment of edges at the end pattern - the rink is too small.

This was filmed in August sometime. On a really nice quiet Sunday morning session!

All the dancers at her rink have great edges because the rink's so small, and she's no exception! Wonderful edges!

Husband, on Sunday, had to dance a Willow Waltz with another dancer from the same rink, who also has terrific edges. He's danced with her before, quite often, but never the Willow Waltz - but they very nearly beat a long-established couple who skate Advanced! Yay for Queens' Edges!

Katherine,

Is that at Queens? No wonder you guys always have such lovely edges - it looks so tiny

It is tiny - I've danced there when they fielded a RIDL team; it's about 3/4 the length of Oxford, and 1/2 the width, you never know where to push or not! And there's nowhere to sit down at rinkside, you have to go into the café. And it is COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD. And they produce seriously good dancers!

Thank you for all the nice comments.

To respond to them all in one - I started skating when I was 21 and am now 26.

Yes that is tiny old Queens. I think the official measurements are 50m x 20m but it feels smaller. Its tougher transferring programmes to big rinks as there is a danger of not filling the rink but I think we are so conscious of it, that it isn't usually a problem at competitions. And yes, you have to make the edges steeper or the dance just won't fit it in!

And is it cold - although lately its been a lot warmer. I get hot in a T-shirt, and, as you can see from the video I'm only wearing a little top. Most people wear hundreds of layers though - I think its just me that wears so little! I get hot quickly. But I prefer a colder rink - I don't feel so drained when practising.

I really enjoy a chance to see other adult skaters skate. There aren't too many at my rink, and I'm the only adult that competes so I'm all alone....(except this year my husband is joining us in a manuever team).

It's refreshing and great to see adults instead of kids all the time!!!!

Um . . . okay. . .

I only had a very low resolution video of a program I did 2 years ago, so I uploaded that, along with a little clip of my double toe and one of my double salchow.

The first one (the program video) needs to be viewed on small screen mode, so when it comes up, be sure to click on the little screen icon in the bottom right corner under the video. Don't click the button on the right; click the one on the left to make the screen smaller

Double salchow

Double toe (It has gotten less "toe-axely" since then.
