I passed!!!!!

Yay I am so happy!! I just passed my Interbronze field moves. What a huge relief. I worked so hard on them but I was worried, since I really only started to work on them seriously in October after coming back to the ice following a disc problem. Even at the beginning of January they were nowhere near passing standard but today they were fine. Even the circular BO3s/mohawks pattern was OK and the only one I was asked to reskate was one of the ones I had not been worrying about, which was the alternating FO3's. I think because nerves had turned my legs to jelly and I was not standing up very straight after the turns the first time.

And even better, my daughter passed 3 tests today. Intersilver field moves and level 5 elements and free so we are going to be celebrating tonight!!!!

I am so happy now that I did not try to put the test off til end of February as it is so nice to have the pressure off.

Happy! Happy! Happy!

Fantastic news. You've been working really hard on those so I'm glad all your hard work has paid off. Congrats to S too - she must be thrilled too, especially given the number of test fails at Inter silver level.

Well done

Nicki

Thanks for all the congrats. I'm still on a high from passing. Mind I looked at the moves for level 5 and I reckon it could take me years to ever have a chance of passing those - are those the 'evil choctaws' from current level 8 on there or some other fiendish choctaw move?

I have got a taste for moves now though - does that make me strange?? I actually enjoyed working at them intensively and even though I've passed I will get my coach (the dance one probably since she enjoys teaching field moves) to show me the new level 3 and 4 moves, which I have now escaped ever having to test.

I thought the test was harder to take than a free test though - must be the lack of music. If I have music I can just lose myself in it and the skating is pretty automatic. When it is quiet and all there is to listen to is the unwanted scrapings it's no fun.

I am in exactly the same position – just past inter-bronze on Monday and working on the new level 5.

I find the back double threes easier than the back three mohawk exercise for inter-bronze.

Yes, the choctaws are evil! I think that the exercise is pretty much the same as the one for the old bronze (level 6?) but I could be wrong.

Really? That gives me some hope - I really struggled to get the back 3 mohawks working

Ah well that means I am never likely to take level 5 (not that I'll ever need them). Even the kids struggle with the choctaws and it is on intersilver at the moment which is level 8 in field moves - maybe lower on the old dance moves tests. They do seem to have made them all a lot harder and the new level 9 and 10 that my daughter would have to take next are really evil!!!!

Thanks. Half-term week, I believe, whenever that is. I won't pass, judge would have to be totally blind to pass me, but Husband just might. Not very probable, but..... Anyway, we're both rather long shots, but nothing to lose!

The level 5 choctaws are not the same as the intersilver choctaws. They are a variation on the bronze choctaws which are a little easier. But still quite horrid.

If I pass my bronze next month I'll have to do evil level 7 next!

Ah - that makes sense, that they'd not put the level 8 ones down to level 5 (though I would not put it past them! ) Still choctaws of any sort are not my favourite thing. I did have one in one of my early free dances but it didn't always come out as a choctaw. Even my coach ended up saying 'do the bit with the choctaw/mohawk/whatever'. I think it was usually a 'whatever'!!!!!!

Good luck for bronze - and for evil level 7!!!! They seem to have made all the new levels 'evil' - even the lowest ones!!!!
