"Butterfly" by Mariah Carey. One of my students is skating to it right now, it is a very pretty song.

However, I actually heard the song was written about a horse.

Anyway, it's a pretty song.

Hi,
Listen to Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe. The beginning could be used for a very artistic butterfly. The other thing I would suggest is that you look on the site for "Adventures in Good Music". They did a show on birds and nature, and there may be something you can use. You can also see the play lists. Your daughter could also start listening to your local classical music station. I once called one of the announcers once for music suggestions.
Enjoy

You may wish to try:

Saint-Saens - Carnival of the Animals - The Aviary movement would be appropriate for a butterfly program.

Francois Couperin - wrote a little harpsichord piece entiled, Les Papillons - listen to it here: http://www.virtuallybaroque.com/track434.htm

Also, Jaques Offenbach wrote an entire ballet score for a ballet called "Le Papillon".

By the way, Papillon in French is butterfly.

Good luck!

Impressed!

You guys really know your music!

I REALLY love the Saint-Saens suggestion ... I'm definitely NOT graceful enough to ever skate to it though...but it is perfect for a butterfly.

I skated to the Saint Saens swan, I loved it. The carnival has quite a few nice pieces.
