Im baaaaackkkkkkkk!!!!

Hi everyone!

Not sure if you remember me, but Ive been off the ice for at least 3 months, because of chemo... and after getting into ice skating for lessons etc 3 times per week for 3months at the beginning of the year, its been hell not being able to go.

Ive had to have the break because of chemo.. even though my hematologist here said its fine, so long as I dont injure myself most of the time I havent felt up to it.. plus, trying to do uni work kinda took precendence.

ANYWAY, I went ice skating for the first time in 3months on Monday!

Bloody hell am I unfit!!! However, I got back into it, and was very careful... my crossovers suck again, but are still there.. my mohawks and 3turns are still recognisable.. I didnt try much else, although I did manage to do some outside mohawks, which I was never able to do before, so Iwas stoked about that!

Im hoping to go once a week until the end of my chemo (only a month to go yay!!!!), to get my stamina back.. and then keep going from there... Doubt I'll get my prelim test before NYE, but Im still aiming for at least early next year...

YAY!!! SO nice to be back on the ice

So hows everyone here?!

Welcome back! Glad to hear you're doing better!

Don't worry about the skating skills - they'll come back. I took 2 months off the ice once and it took a few weeks to get things back, but they came.

Welcome back!I am sure that you will regain your strength and previous skills in time. How wonderful to learn you are doing so well to be able to skate with active chemo treatment.

Welcome back!!!! It's good that you can skate again. I can honestly say that skating has kept me sane through the toughest times in my life. . . which is ironic, considering it's making me insane now, LOL!

Great to see you back on the ice. Everything may feel strange to start with, but I'm sure you'll soon be doing things as well as before.
