i just painted my skate guards

with ceramic paint which, if you paint it on ceramic, will dry in the oven. i'm a bit dubious about sticking my plastic guards in the oven, but I have protected the paint with clear nail polish.... is there anything that will protect the paint from the dirty wet floors of my rink better?

thanks

Maybe a spray-on laquer or varnish?

Just curious: Why did you paint them? What color were they, and what color are they now?

daisies: they were white
now they are light blue with dark blue swirls and purple asterisks/stars like this *****
lol I might post a picture if it doesn't all come off as soon as I walk on our disgusting rink floor... seriously, it's all wet and dirty and completely SKANKY....

edit: why did I paint them? hmm. I was kinda bored, and plus I was a little tired of white.
I am thinking of maybe getting this design off and doing the guards in leopard print in honour of my soon to be new leopard print boot covers...
