Sports bras
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good sports bras that will keep things put. I come from a long line of, shall we say, well endowed women, and I constantly have problems finding sports bras that fit. My problem is that my ribcage isn't big, so if it fits my ribcage, it's too tight for my breasts and I'm spilling out, or if it fits my breasts, it sags around which doesn't do anything either. I found a really nice one by champion a while back, with underwire and made based on your bra size, but I haven't been able to find them since.

I am a DD, and I finally found the perfect sports bra! Comfortable, does it jobs, wonderful! It is maybe a little expensive, but so worth it since I am held in so well, without any weird smashing (I can wear a normal shirt and look great as well).
http://store.nordstrom.com/product/p...=keywordsearch or http://tinyurl.com/dazw9 The only bad thing IMO is that it doesn't come in black, and I wear black/gray 99% of the time. |

Both Athleta and Title Nine Sports have a large collection of sports bras for a variety of shapes and sizes. I get their catalogs, and I know they have websites too (sorry, I don't have the links handy but they should be easy to find).
Another thought - does Champion sell directly from its website? Although you've probably tried that option, I guess. |

Try http://www.title9sports.com/jump.jsp...Type=HOME_PAGE for Title 9 sports.
I've ordered from them before and been happy with the results (I wear a D cup). I only do dance but still like to prevent as much movement as possible. I found that the really strong minimizer bras (Bali makes one that does up to 1 3/4") work as well as some sports bras, and they don't give you the "uni-boob" look.

You could check a L'eggs-Hanes-Bali-Playtex store or their site? Unless you already have.
It's funny most skaters and dancers have small busts... if you're bigger, you kinda feel odd. I'm a C (or in Playtex, Nearly C) and haven't worn a sport bra in years - I dislike that most of them cost as much as the regular ones. I usually have lots of trouble finding anything that fits properly. |

Now I find it amazing how anyone can skate with them and there are some very good skaters at our rink that are well endowed, I can only guess that if you have had them with you for the best part of your life you get used to them, just as I got used to not having them ![]() Hats off to you women who can skate - bust an all, ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Grace |

Feel free to laugh but I can skate in some of my normal bras but have to tighten them up back and straps before i skate, otherwise I wear a sports bra. I'm lucky though becuase I have a big rib cage so can usually find something that works. Sorry no extra suggestions otherwise but can sympathise with your problem!

I've never found a sports bra that works as well as a normal one - you should see me trying them on and doing bunny-hops off-ice to make sure I can..... at least the fitters understand!

I'm probably going to go to the sporting good's store (I thibnk it's called Dick's, no?) and see if I could find any of the ones that have been recommended so far. I'm a bit hesitant ordering online if I haven't tried it on yet. But I also don't like trying on sports bras, so I like to have an idea of what brands to try on first. |

Before my reduction (best thing I ever did for myself) I wore a Champion sports bra. It was a pullover style with a hook and racer back. What I really liked were the underwires--I got some definition, but not a total uni-boob. It pretty much cut down of most--but not all--of the motion. I couldn't run in it--I tried and there was still to much motion. It was fine for skating and working on jumps, though.

Dans-ez Minimal Bounce Bras are great. They look like crop tops, are comfortable, no hooks or anything to dig in and are very supportive. Oh, and they come in a multitude of colours amd a couple of different styles.

Sorry, Lynn - that wouldn't support me for 2 seconds! Even though I've lost almost 50 lbs, I still take a 36 D bra, and, to be honest, I hope I don't go much lower! I like having big tits - it's just a nuisance finding a decent bra. My best one is actually my competition bra, which is a flesh-coloured M&S everyday one. Very supportive.

2nd that... The one on the left is so low cut i would but falling out all over the place, and the one on the right the same thing but the straps are way too tiny... I WISH I could wear them though...

The first one is VERY supportive, one of the skaters that I used to skate with (38D) used to skate in one. I wouldn't advise the 1st or 2nd ones for anyone who is 'blessed' though

I think Prevention mag ran a comparison on sports bras a while back. You can look in the index on a newer one to find out which old one you need to dig out of the library's archives. They may have some brands you've not considered.
As far as the ribcage goes, I have the exact opposite problem - large ribcage and not too much up top. Try finding a formal dress that you can both zip up and hold up... ![]() |

Check to see if you have a store in your area that specializes in running. They usually have a large selection of very supportive sports bras as this is essential in running. You can usally find a very knowledgable staff in most of these stores.
This will give you an opportunity to try them on before you buy. |
