Coaches: How do you train kids for Regionals?

At my practice rink, the "Head Coach" has all of his skaters (about 20) do double run-throughs of their short and long programs every day until they leave town for the big event--even on the busiest of FS sessions. That means a lot of people don't get their program music played even once. (It wouldn't bother me at all except this year I happen to be competing myself a week after Regionals.)

That's more of an issue for the rink/club or whoever runs the sessions. People who haven't had their music played once get to go before someone who has gone already and during busy times, you get your music played no more than 3 times.

But when my daughter was going to regionals she did double run-throughs and her coach even gave her a CD two recordings of her music. But she never worked very hard on her short program since she never seriously expected to make it to final rounds.
