For those who have not already seen it, here is a set of vids of ppl skating on synth ice. Some are hockey. Some are low FS kids, but they seem to be moving nicely. Toward the bottom of the page there is a vid of a young woman in a black dress who does a couple of fast spins. Don't see many jumps other than waltz. I wish I could try this stuff. Kay |

Found another link to a synth ice surface. Company seems to be in UK.

I've just realised how close I came to skating on synth. ice a few months ago, not realising the dangers this would behold for my skates...
fortunately, we didn't have enough time to stop and skate. brings shivers down my spine, my brand new blades would have been ruined...

For our state fair "ice" show, the kids did scratch sit and camel spins; and did waltz, loops, axels, toe-loops flips and lutz jumps. You learn to jump without setting up long (the surface was like 15x20 so you set up on the diagonal).
They used different blades on their boots instead of their regular blades and had them sharpened every 2 hours (I think they used Gam G3). I don't know if I will do it....still thinking it over...
