IJS for Dummies?
Yes I am sure there are quite detailed explanations somewhere.
Where's the best place to get a really good intro/overview for a beginner judge? I am learning to judge, but the whole IJS & GOE makes me freak. I need a gentle intro that won't scare me off for life. ![]() Any ideas?

The ISU website is the best place to start - it's got the base values and rules for GOEs along with PCS marking

You can also find nicely organized information on the USFSA site.
Go here: http://www.usfigureskating.org/New_Judging.asp?id=355 Then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the webpage and you will see the section, "Judge and Referee Information". The links posted there will take you to the ISU documents that give guidelines for GOE and PCS.

My friend just became an IJS judge - she had to go to a ton of seminars, practice judging situations, etc. They had lots of instruction given to them at the seminars - have you gone to a seminar yet?
