Proud of my 10 yo dd!
I hope she can carry it through and pass the test- she was scheduled for Pre Juv MIF this coming Monday. Her coach talked to me Monday and said he just didn't think she was ready and that maybe we needed to postpone the test. I said I trust his judgment.
So he told my dd who objected- and he said- then convince me I am WRONG with your skating of the test- and well...she did. So the test is on with a few more days to fix up minor rough patches. |

It is amazing to me sometimes what these kids can bring to the table when it really counts! I don't know how many times I have said "Where did THAT come from?" when watching a test or competition program!
Good luck to her on her test!!

I think its so great when they have their own ideas about what they want and where they want to be! Hope she gets loads of praise about having those ambitions and idea's.
I saw on your other thread about your other daughters tests as well. My daughter is grumbling slightly about the "bracket exercise" (I assume there is only one) but has asked coach for test papers to force her work this harder. I'm trying to take a back seat on this one! |

My daughter had to take her intermediate MITF test a month earlier than her coach had planned - it was mandatory for something her synchro team wanted to do. It was the first test she didn't pass. The fact that one judge forgot to show up and the one they managed to get to fill in hours later was a real crank (she didn't pass anyone - big whoop to her!) added to the fun that day. My daughter was very disappointed - it was hard for her personally, but she felt she had let the team down, as they had to scramble to find an alternate for the roster. That meant a qualified skater from one of the other lines had to skate as a swinger for that month, which is difficult at the level my daughter was competing at. My daughter apologized to her coach for not passing the test, and to her team as well. It was a great learning experience for her, and I was proud of her for putting her own feelings aside and thinking of the team. She also went to all the practices, and did what she could to help her replacement learn both programs.
