Great Skating Commercials

Well, after seeing the hilarious Delta Llyod insurance commerical that's currently airing in the Nethlands, I thought it'd be neat to see what other hilarious/stupid/interesting skating commericals are out there. Post your favorites! Let's see what all we can come up with.

That is hilarious!

John and Sinead Kerr did a coffee commercial some years ago, but I can't find it on YouTube.

This, for the Citroen C4, isn't strictly figure skating, but still:

So, she's surfing? Anyone think that's really her? I mean, that'd be pretty cool if it was...

Oh, there's this winner. Very hokey with Ben & Tanith smiling angelically over Cream of Wheat. "This is WAY better than energy bars." "And it definitely beats cold cereal." And to top it off, some actor playing a coach hollering at them.

And the Acuvue Oasis contact lenses that won Tanith & Ben the Olympic silver medal:

How ironic that that was her only triple combination.

Indeed - and that ad was shown at least twice every week during the run of Dancing on Ice, interspersed with two others, one couple I don't know and one I know well. But yes, that is definitely 2loop2loop and his dance partner.

2loop2loop, I have a feeling you skate at my rink. Are you John? As in this John? If so, I keep finding you everywhere! I am Gina10179202, who found you on youtube too. I am not stalking you, I promise.

there was a brooke bond PG tips advert with the PG chimps where on of them was being chased by russian soldiers on skates and he skated across the border post and escaped. It was like a James Bond parody. Here it is on youtube

I think the other young lady in the commercial is the surfer.

Thanks for posting that! It's so cute! Speaking of Japanese skaters with dogs, here's Shizuka doing some skating moves with her dog! The first move they do is called the "Inu Bauer" ("Inu" is the Japanese word for dog, LOL!)

Yup, it's really me, but no one has stopped me in the street yet to ask for my autograph! Definitely one of the more surreal experiences of my skating career, and nothing like the day job. It became quite a talking point in the office!

It only took about 30 takes to get that shot just how they wanted it, and probably just as many of the overhead one too. There were loads of funny outtakes from the overhead one where the lift headed off in completely the wrong direction, or barely even made it into the shot. The filming was quite good fun once I got over the shock of turning up on the first day and finding out that this was waaaaay bigger than anything I had expected. There were about 50 crew, 20 or so models and 150 extras as well as the six of us skaters. When I arrived on the first day and saw thm unloading truckloads of lights and cameras etc, I was ready to run away!

Well, thank you. Fortunately, my partner is such a good skater that people watch her, and don't notice all my toe pushing, wide stepping, ugly hands etc etc. We are going to do our best at the MC, but you know what we are up against , and I believe there will be some other couples there this year too. It could make for a very interesting competition!

Yes that's me, as Mrs R has already said. But I'm only here and on youtube. At least as far as I know

There is A Perdue Chicken comercial in the DC area where there is clearly a stunt double doing an axel and a spiral for the Perdue Chicken Man....Anyone Know who this skater could be?

The Perdue Chicken Man is not a"Chicken" he just does these silly ads.

Yes, I do know what, or rather who, you are up against, but don't forget they've been married for at least 25 years and skating together most of that time, too, whereas you and D have been skating together for less than a year.... and you two have age on your side!
