Leftovers: Yeah, everything was left over this morning - like the ice from last night! Actually, under all the snow it was better than it's been for awhile, and the snow wasn't frozen to the surface. A good broom would have made a big difference.

However, the really annoying thing was that most of the coaches had been told that the Zamboni needed attention, but nobody had bothered to tell our coaches. Grrrrr......

PLUS we have now been told, at about 5 minutes' notice, that for the next 3 weeks there will only be half the ice available, if that, between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm, for filming. The REALLY annoying thing about that is that it is filming something for one of our current favourites, and we don't even know whether to be cross about that, or not! I gather there was a row on Friday morning when the film people expected the ice to be cleared for them; the pros who were there firmly said "No!" Wish I'd been there, but I've had a minor virus and have rested for a couple of days. Seem to be better now.

Husband said "It won't affect me; I have to leave at 8.20", which is true. But I have my lesson at 9.00 am..... grrrrr...... at least I don't have a solo entry in our forthcoming competition.

Gobble Gobble: Husband is definitely to test on Tuesday (he reckons he's not ready, but the coaches say he is, and I think he is).

Our "Waltzing cat" routine is coming-along-nicely now. We worked on it off-ice yesterday, and ran through the music in the car on the way to the rink this morning, so although the ice was horrendous, we finally have a programme. One or two bits need work, but then, the competition isn't for a fortnight. Although no skating next Sunday morning, and goodness knows what the ice will be like in the week.... Sheesh....

Saturday Night

Gobble gobble: Got MK Pro blade, got blade on boot, got to ice rink, put on skates, got back on the ice again...

Leftovers: DOH!!! Blade alignment all wrong again!!! Nice while it last... (I'll have to get this to my blade guy when both of us are at a rink and get it realigned again.) I want my old purple skates back!!! (And no new boot 'til at least close to Christmas too. And I'll probably have to get another MK Pro blade simply b/c I don't want to go thru the hassles of getting my blades realigned after the New Year.

(Minor gobble) Hmmm? Maybe since now my hubby has a new job and will get his paycheck end of month, I could try and take a look at those nice gold MK Gold Stars for the new boots again??? Hmmm?

MK Gold Stars - Jazzpants

I think you should get a little treat for yourself for having just been through such a terrible tragedy (i.e., losing your lovely purple boots): Get the MK Gold Stars! I upgraded from Professionals to Gold Stars and I love my blades. As a matter of fact, I immediately got 2 more revolutions on my backspin the first day I tried them (although that could have been because my Pros had lost some of their rocker). You're smart to stick with MK because the radius will be the same and you won't have as much adjusting to do. Just make sure you have a blade sharpener who knows what he's doing, since these blades are side-honed.
