Hamill's Camel Help

OK, one question, when I land on my back outside edge on my Hamill's Camel am I supposed to spin in smaller or 2-foot wide circles?

That was all the rage when I was a kid skater!

To answer the original question, you should be centered in a normal flying camel before you tap into the (very brief layover) and back sit. Unless my muscle memory is totally incorrect (and I don't count that out), the layover is really a transition, not a separate position.

whats a layover? LOL. I knew that hamill camel is flying camel/back sit but Ivenever heard of a layover.....

A layover is a position in which the skater opens the hip and turns the torso sideways. One arm is up the other down. The body faces sideways; whereas, in a traditional swan dive pose, the torso faces downward. In a Hamill Camel, this position is achieved during the descent to the back sit,so it is transitional.

IMO, yes, your circles should be less than 2' diameter. One of the difficulties of flying camels is landing in a tightly centered spin.

Yeah, cause I can do a perfect flying camel, just my Hamill's Camel is wonky...
