I personally hate the double salchow. :x

Lutz, no doubt about it. The individual who created this jump was one sick dude. It doesn't help that I have a coach who wants it done RIGHT. Give me an axel, 2 salchow or 2 loop any day. Not that I can do these well, but trying them is a lot less nerve racking to me.

Heck, I'd even add single salchow. I absolutely DESPISE any form of the salchow

I vote the lutz - single variety of course but I just hate this jump - never feels comfortable.

The loop, for me. It took me longer to land than any of the others (including the flip), and I find it really tricky! Eek.

The  Lutz  gets my vote!

I thought the topic question meant what was the worst jump in general (how they look even when done by pros), not what was the worst for each person individually. In general, I think the one foot axel (normal takeoff, but land with your other foot) is a klunky jump and not pretty even when done well. A friend of mine thinks that the half loop looks like a mistake.

But I think walleys and kickout loops (e.g. done by Tonya Harding at the end of her 91 LP) are kinda cool.

I agree--when I'm not paying close enough attention while watching skating on TV, I think the half loop looks like a stepout....

Basically anything that I can't land is the worst jump in figure skating

The loop, definitely. It doesn't make sense - at least with the salchow, you can kind of use your free leg to help you get in the air. It just feels weird to be skating backwards, slow down, and just jump off of an edge. I know it's the same concept as the flip and lutz (keeping your weight on your right side), but at least there, you've got your toe pick to help you.

I always hated the lutz...but I think toeloops are the worst looking. I just think they look weird...

Another vote for salchows! I'm still working on my lutz, but i like it a lot more than salchows! that jump just feels odd... and it took me a long time to get down! I learned the loop and flip a lot faster.

The loop is my favorite jump. My tip would be to trust the edge. The loop has a feeling to me, and through practice you learn to wait for that "feeling". I call it, "The NOW feeling". Technical huh? If you take off too soon or late the jump falls apart. Speed also helps.

Cheers for the tips. I plan to start practicing them again soon... :)

I HATE toe loops. I might be the only one, but I think that they're humanly impossible and I'm never meant to land them. Lutz's are pretty brutal too.

You know, after working on the 2toe these last few weeks and getting no results (except a sore back end  ), I think I agree with you!

Hate hate hate hate loathe and despise that jump!! All the other jumps I have no problems with. I don't get the concept of a double toe though. Single toe is fine, but I can't see how to get over onto the right side for doubles...if that makes any sense! :D

Stormy, that makes loads of sense. That's my biggest problem with the jump right now. I'm starting to think I should just move on to the double flip - at least there I'm already over the right side ;) .

Gotta tell you, that's exactly what I did, pretty much skipped to double loop & flip. And loop is only a 1/4 turn cheated and flip at least resembles a double flip. I usually can't even take off correctly for double toe! :)

I definately think the double axel is the worst jump ever. I'm still trying to get mine consistant after working on it for 5 yrs. I'm mean i can land it but its not like every single one. It comes and goes. My triples on the other hand came easy, but the double axel alwyz haunts me.

i am personally 'anti' toeassisted jumps...ok, at least 2/3! i like flips, but cannot stand lutzes and toes. couldnt get doubles on the lutz and toe because i just dont like how my body feels in the take off position. argh, yuck, bad memories!

I love lutzes!!!!! Walleys and toe walleys are another story entirely. How can something that looks so simple be so complicated? OK, I guess it's just my confused feet that make them complicated............especially on that blasted toe walley that I wish would just go away. I'm not exactly a sal fan either.

I hate 2 sals, I am starting 3loop and probably all my other triples before 3 sal just b/c I hate 2sal soooo much, it's not even bad but I actually have to try on it.

I'll vote for the loop! I could never get them consistent landed on one foot and glide!!!

After that I would say lutz, but ask me this question again when I learn the axel. (I know I'm gonna hate it...)

i love double axels. once you get the hang of doing them they are so fun. i love salchows too lol especially the triple. if there's 1 jump that took me the longest to get and i really had to work hard at it's the flip. but i dont hate any jump really

Does anyone just find that the double toe has a sort of odd timing to it?

After doing 97 million incompletely rotated double toes in the last week, I'd just plain call them odd!

I officially LOVE Triple Toes...They're like the most wicked jump when you do them right...they take no effort whatsoever and feel so good!

I don't personnally HATE any jump, I mean there's some I have more difficulty with but I don't mind them. But I guess that....hmm, I would have to say that toe and axel aren't my favorites.

I'd have to say that i HATE single axels (i dunno ever since double i ALWAYS seem to "waxel" on singles) and toes! ahh!!! I HATE TOE LOOPS! ESPECIALLY IN COMBOS!!!:x

I hate the salchow. It's my worst jump and I can never ever do it right. Grrr! The loop is my best. All singles. Haha. Workin' on them...

I'd have to say toe loop. Glad to hear that I am not the only one who thinks that jump just feels awkward. Been working on 2loop and 2sal both of which are close and started 2flip which I like so far, but I won't even attempt a 2toe yet because that jump just feels awkward for me.
