I was wondering if there are any adults planning to skate at the Moran memorial competition in late August in Hackensack. I am hoping to skate Adult Bronze--I just passed my FS test, and it will be my first competition. Eep!

At one point, I thought I was going to go, since my coach is taking several skaters. BUT unfortunately, it came down to either that or testing my Pre- Bronze MIF, and the MIF won!
I would have been a Bronze event skater as well, skating up a level. There are quite a few adults in that area, though, so don't worry!

No, I'm not planning to . . . but does anyone happen to know who the Moran Memorial is in memory of?

Lori Moran-Ditchkus . She was skating director at Chelsea Piers and then the first co-director (with Valerie Leving) of the Ice House skating school in Hackensack. She and her husband Michael died on Swissair flight 111 in Sept, 1998.
