I went faster and faster, around and around again, constantly building up speed until I leaped high into the air and executed a perfect Tornado, the full twist-backflip that's the signature move of U.S. National Figure Skating champion Michael Weiss.

Great story...

Reminds me when I was skating about 2 years, this little girl who couldn't have been 5, just kept staring at my skates...

Finally she tugged on my sleeve and said, she had never seen such big figure skates....remember now that I have a size 12 1/2 size skate...

The funny thing is that I recognise myself from some years ago - I never used to bother, and often passed up an opportunity to go skating. I still don't know what changed it - one day I was accompanying my daughter (who was hooked after lessons at school), and thought "Hey, I'm having fun!" And the rest is history.... But why, after 20-odd years (I first strapped on a pair of skates when I was about 20, going with a gang of friends, rather as in the story) of not really having fun should it have suddenly changed?
