Have you ever had a thread here, on Iceskaters (any kind) who, from supposedly 'incurable, fatal' diseases, they demonstrate what is possible... by 1st healing :D & achieving their finest dreams... :bow:
Never heard of this title: US National 'Amateur' Senior Freestyle Gold Medal Figure Skating Champion'. - where is that awarded? - and what about: http://www.cyberphysiology.com/about/gary_sinclair.asp
Share here, if you would, any and all people who overcame terrible circumstances, to become Skaters... inspiring yet others :) Thank you!!

The article said National Amateur Senior Olympic Gold Medal Figure Skating Champion. The Senior Olympics would be a local invitational for people over a certain age - I think it's 65 where I live, although we don't have figure skating in ours. If there's a national level for this, I would think it would be something like the State Games of America, where you qualify by placing at your local competition.

In my state (Delaware) I can qualify for a Senior Olympics archery event in two years, when I will be 50 (so I have 2 years to get good enough 8O). We don't have any local event for figure skating, only ice hockey.
