I'm planning on skating in this--I'm excited! It looks like it's going to be a great event.

The last time I competed was almost 30 years ago, so wish me luck. 8O

I'd love to fly out and try this new comp., just to try something new and different. I just hope Chicago doesn't snow me in! Is Escondido closer to LA or San Diego? 8-)

Escondido is a suburb of San Diego (about 30 miles north).

I rode past San Diego once, but I've never actually SEEN it. I'd love to finally visit! 8-)

Hope you can make it, Black Sheep! Lots to see and do here. Plus it's usually in the 80's in January. 8-)

Whee!!! I'm too far north (and don't have a spare room) but I can volunteer some San Diego and Orange County gals for ya. ;)

Better than Chicago weather, full of plow-out deep-freezes in January/February! ;)

Is this at the same rink the Team Del Sol synchro teams skate out of? If so, just a warning--it's freakin COLD.

No, this competition is not at the rink that Team del Sol skates out of. There are two ice surfaces at the rink the competition will be held at, and it usually isn't that cold on the competition side.

This just in. . . My coach called the registrar because he has several adult skaters who were a little late getting their applications in. He was told they are extending the deadline to December 15. They want participants, so if you were on the fence and thought you had missed your chance, send your applicatoin in! :)

Oh man, I am planning to go with my DH for his conference in San Diego that starts on 31 Jan... I totally should do this one, right?

Hmm... but there are issues - I have never tested freestyle... only Moves & Dance... and I really can't see myself skating pre-Bronze!

chowskates--if you're interested, there are solo dance events at this comp, as well as no-test artistic events.
