these skates? Is the rust on the blades something that would come off in a sharpening? I don't know if I would take a chance on these or not. Any opinions?

(m) means more... it's an old habit I have from writing on forums years ago. It is meant to indicate there is text included in the post.

I forgot the link :

http://cgi.ebay.com/Riedell-Bronze-Star-320-Skates_W0QQitemZ160298962479QQcmdZViewItemQQptZIce _Skating?hash=item160298962479&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A570%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C2 40%3A1318

I am looking for a size 3.5 or 4. Dd is in a 3 now. I'm looking ahead. She fits in her current skates but since there are a lot listed on ebay now, I think I will have a better chance at finding a bigger pair of skates for a good deal. Thanks.

Sorry, thought I could help. Dd just got a new pair but she is only in a 3.5 now. I have a pair of size 2 to give to a nice home!

Cornation Aces are decent blades for beginner freestylers, and unless the rust is really bad, it's nothing a good sharpening couldn't remove. The blades on these skates don't look like they're in bad condition and the rust seems very minor, so perhaps it could be sharpened off.

If you're still concerned about their condition, e-mail the seller and ask for more pictures/specifics on the blades.

I looked and I think they are overpriced for used skates. She said they were custom but I dont think they are.
wait and see if she relists them, no one has bid yet.

I don't think they are custom either. They look like a stock boot to me!

I agree they're overpriced (Aces "worth over $200" used? I can buy new Aces for less than that), but I suspect that the boots are at least semi-custom - if I'm not mistaken, the B/A sizing indicates split width?

I dont know about adult skates, but all kids boots this brand are B/A, its not considered a split. The only reason I know is that my son has them and they came that way. I called, upset since I thought it would say B/ B. They said most boots are wider in the top and not as wide in the heel for the snug heel fit.So boots are B/A C/B I think.

Thanks. I waited and the price has dropped. They are now at a starting bid of 49.99. If the blades looks OK, I am thinking I might take a chance on them and bid. Thanks everyone!

How do Coronation Aces compare to MK Professional blades?

I tallked to dd's coach. She said that Aces are good blades. I do have another question. Do any of you familar with Riedell boots know if the Bronze Medallion has changed much in the last 3-4 years? I know the new models have brass eye hooks and the ankle notch, but other then that are there any major differences?

Both are comparable in price and have a 7' rocker, a 7/16" radius of hollow, and a cross cut toe rake. The size range differs a bit with the MK Professional at 7-12.5" and the Ace at about 5.75-12.5".

As for the Bronze Medallions: I have a few skaters who wear them and off the top of my head, I can't think of any significant changes other than the two you've listed.

Thanks! I talked to dd's coach and she think they will be a good choice for dd. Oh and I goofed, they are the Bronze Star boots. I keep goofing up and say the Bronze Medallions. LOL! Dd is in Gold Medallions now, so I don't know why I keep doing that! HEE

Thanks again.
