I overheard the following gem at the rink this evening:

"I'm going to figure skate on your hockey ###!"

One day before freestyle I was complaining about back pain when The Big Guy shook me by the shoulders and said: "The Ice Doesn't Care!"
We like it so much we had t-shirts made for his birthday.

At the British Championships one year they had people selling mugs and T-shirts with the legend "If figure skating were easy, they'd call it hockey!"

ETA I said to a hockey-playing friend of mine once, "Wouldn't you rather skate with a woman than with a stick?"

He thought about it. "No," he said, finally, "sticks don't argue!"
