Last night husband and I watched "Monster A GoGo" which is a Mystery Theature 3000 movie. It started with a short called "Circus on Ice" which showed a Canadian touring ice show from (I'm guessing) the 40's. It was really fun to watch, but one thing I noticed - all the skaters toe-pushed. The chorus line toe-pushed in unison, the solo skaters toe pushed to build up speed. Was this the accepted way to skate back then? When did the emphasis on using the whole blade and *not* toe-pushing come into vogue?

Oh and if you're curious to see for yourself, you can rent it from Netflix.

That was one of my favorite shorts. Still hilarious!

"I'll have a sloe-gin circus!" :lol::lol:
