Our daughter gave us for Christmas, a copy of Figure Skating: a History (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Figure-Skating-James-R-Hines/dp/0252072863/sr=8-2/qid=1168017784/ref=sr_1_2/026-7199939-4028446?ie=UTF8&s=books). All resemblances to Hermione Grainger's favourite book aside, it's actually extremely good - and, best of all, it's not just about the elites. Them too, of course, but at the end of the book there's a chapter on the fastest-growing part of the sport - adult skating! And a picture of certain regulars from the first Mountain Cup.
