National Skating Month Set to Kick Off with Record Number of Participants

(12/28/06) - A record number of U.S. Figure Skating member clubs, Basic Skills programs and STAR rinks will participate in National Skating Month throughout the entire month of January...and beyond. A number of our local skating programs have activities planned for this.

The Staten Island Skating Pavilion (http://www.thepavilion.org) has a figure skating exhibition planned for 1/22/2007. (Their Elite Skaters are performing.)

What's going on at other rinks?

The club at one of the rinks I skate at did a free learn to skate clinic today. I just wish they had posted some flyers at the rink to promote it. I mentioned it to a couple moms I met at the public session today. I hope the club had a decent crowd show up for the clinic. I think that next weekend they are doing a clinic especially for kids with disabilities.
