Hi
As some of you will remember, I had a nasty accident (face plant) at the very beginning of September and found it impossible to return to the arena due to fear etc, I posted on here stating my fears and many of you responded passing on positive thoughts and encouragement to return.
Thanks to your kind words, I took the bull by the horns today and returned to the arena with my new skates and I am so glad that I did. I was absolutley terrified at first, stepping onto the ice for the first time in 16 weeks was really scary experience but its the best thing that I could have done. Before I had skated half way around the arena I felt my confidence start to return and within 5 minutes I felt as if I had never been away.
I can honestly say that my skating today was better than it ever has been, even before the accident. I dont know if this was due to adrenaline or the fact that I am now using RF3 with Coronation Comets. The difference was unbelievable. It was great to skate, feel confident and supported without having to tie the laces so tight that there is no chance of a good knee bend. I even found the two footed spins would come today, so much for me saying that I would do nothing other than forward skate. LOL just couldnt help myself.
Anyway I want to thank everyone here for their kind words, support and encouragement. Without you I dont think I would have psyched myself up to return. I will never give up hope again.
Many thanks
Andreaxx
