I'd like to invite you all to www.icetricks.com

This is a community for trick skaters. A place to explore and become
inspired by non-traditional figure skating. There is long history of ice
skaters performing unique skills such as stilt skating, barrel jumping,
acrobatics, and comedy. I have been gathering as much of this as possible
(historical and current) to display in one place for everyone to see! For
young skaters or even just a skating fans to be able to view the many
different aspects of ice skating that are seldom displayed or discussed in
competitions or television.

enjoy!

The spread eagle limbo trick you did was quite impressive. Amazing actually.

I remember watching Mr. Frick on tv (in b&w) when I was a little girl (wait, did I just date myself? Ok, that was a long time ago and it was cool then).

you didn't really date yourself Mr. Frick skated from the mid 30's till 70's or 80's....so there can be a lot of speculation...I think he skated up till he was 80 or so. I have a picture of him in a cantilever at 65. It's impressive. We will have a whole bio up on him and Frack along with video of some of their acts. Also some other great acts too :)

Wow. Your site looks fantastic. I remember my dad raving about Frick & Frack, and I've always appreciated a good cantilever in choreography.

That stilt skating---holy cow! What control! (And they say you can't skate if you're tall. Pshaw! ;) )

That jump over the boards is a waltz, not an axel. :-P

Heh, no I meant I haven't even tackled an axel so the tricks all over that site are completely foreign to me!

You know a lot of people blow this sort of stuff off as not valid skating stuff (in particular, I'm thinking of a guy who posted here a year or so ago and got a lot of flack for it), but I enjoy seeing it, and am very thankful you've got this site going. Tradition needs to be bent, and we could all use more laughs in my opinion. :)

Thanks for sharing!

When I was a teenager and first skated...(many moons ago)...the only place I could skate was a flooded ditch next to the woods. I did get good at jumping over logs, but that was mostly hopping over them. I didn't know how to do anything else fancy (had a mean 2-footed spin though).
